TAKE NOTE COMMUNITY CHOIR
THE CHOIR
Take Note Community Choir is a non-audition, open-access community choir for those with no, little, or lots of singing experience. We were formed in April 2010 after Rev. Barry Dugmore, the vicar at that time at St Paul's and St George's Church, watched a BBC documentary with Gareth Malone about community singing. Using money from a local trust fund, Take Note was formed. Whilst we are by no means a traditional church choir, we still maintain close links with St Paul's and St George's Church. We are very grateful to the trust for its continued support.

We meet regularly on a Monday evening between 7 and 8.15 at St Paul's Church in Westexe, Tiverton, Devon, with refreshments afterward. We sing a wide range of music but mostly contemporary pop, musical theatre and film music. We usually sing in two or three parts and learn the music by listening and repeating. We are conducted by Katy Baker and accompanied by Abi Pring on the piano. We are governed by a committee of members. We perform regularly in and around Tiverton, often to raise money for charities. In the past, we have also performed in Worthing, West Sussex; Chinon in the Loire Valley, France; and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

We socialise regularly with events in the past including barn dances, quizzes, karaoke nights, a beetle drive, cream teas and a chocolate-themed evening. As a member of the choir, you and your family are all welcome to join us for our social events.

We charge £1 a week voluntary subs, paying in cash either weekly when you arrive or via this website. Please do not pay for your first week, we just want you to try us out and see if we are the right choir for you.
If after you have been to a few rehearsals and would like to become a member,
please sign up by entering your email address in the subscribe box at the bottom of this page.

All our upcoming rehearsals, performances, and social events are on the 'Events' page. We also have a Facebook page which can be accessed through the link at the bottom of this page.

Please contact us via the chat-box, Messenger, or via the contact page.
We are always excited when we are asked to perform and encourage choir members to come to any performances they feel comfortable and able to attend. However, there is never any pressure to perform if you don't want to! For performances, unless otherwise stated we wear black trousers or skirts and post box red tops and lyrics if
you need them in a black folder.
